Pardon Me, Your Awesome is Showing

My friend Jo Anna Rothman and I were having a conversation recently, about this concept of taking responsibility for your awesomeness.

Not just nodding your head in its general direction once in awhile. But owning it, loving it. Revelling in it.  Letting it be wild and free.

See, you know that tendency you have of doubting yourself, of talking down to yourself? The way you sell yourself short and play small?  I’m not buyin’ it.  Not for a second. Because I see you. There’s brilliance in you.  And it’s time for you to own it and walk in it.

That stuff you complain about? That smallness you’ve grown comfortable stuffing yourself into? These are just distractions you’ve created to avoid taking responsibility for your greatness.  I know it’s easier to give the keys of your happiness to others.  I know it’s easier to complain about what’s wrong in your world, than to step up to the challenge of making your world luscious and brilliant.

Believe me, I know.

And here’s something else I know:

I know that while you’re finding reasons to feel small and helpless, your awesome is showing.  It’s there and it’s obvious.  Yup, I’m sorry to break it to you, but you’re amazing and you’re just gonna have to learn to live with that!  Because you look pretty silly trying to convince yourself and everyone else otherwise! You’re sitting up on top of that mountain, complaining that you have no view.  Stop that!

It’s time to start asking yourself how you want your life to feel.  And then getting busy on creating that. No more excuses. There are no victims here.  It’s time to take responsibility for your awesomeness.

Doesn’t it feel good when you let your awesome run wild and free? That special, unique “you-ness” that comes alive and shines when you’re walking in your truth and your greatness? Doesn’t it feel expansive and right?

...Wouldn’t you like more of that in your life?

Don’t wait to live and love without holding back.  Let today be the day that you begin falling in love with your awesomeness and walking in it like your life depends upon it.

Because it does.  And the time is now.

No more playing small.  No more hiding in the shadow of your own greatness.

You and I both know you’re brilliant and amazing.

Now, what are you gonna do about it?

I couldn't love this post any more if I tried ;-)

"let your awesome run wild and free"
"begin falling in love with your awesomeness and walking in it like your life depends upon it"

Just two of the nuggets I'm taking with me on this fine day!

Haha... Rita, what's funny about this is, this is the exact same reaction I had when the insight hit me! LOL! I was talking with Jo Anna and basically cracked up laughing for about 10 minutes.

What a way to begin this year, falling in love with it - oh it's on, this romance is gonna be so steamy! Hahaha!

I had a HUGE aha moment with Jo Anna yesterday, she's a gift I tell ya. It was at the end of our call & I basically sat there stunned for the last 10 minutes after I said it, like wow, wth, how did I not see that, I'd been telling myself a story for months, it was so difficult to see past it.

It was beautiful. Yay! <3!

PS 3-way tie, oh yeeeaaaaahhh!

This is a great wakeup call. I have been guilty of playing small and complaining lately. This line really got me "It’s time to start asking yourself how you want your life to feel." I also need to hang this up. Thanks @amanda for bringing my attention to this.

These words could not have come at a better time. And to think...I was *this* close to letting someone convince me that I am not worthy of my awesomeness. Uh-uh...back it up buddy...I OWN my awesomeness and no one can take it away!!!

Thank you, Daniel!!

"It’s time to start asking yourself how you want your life to feel. And then getting busy on creating that."

This is exactly what I have begun, just within the last week, to do. It is a bit (ok, more than a bit) frightening and unnerving - but it's also beautiful in this whole baring my soul and welcoming the world into the Awesome that is me kinda way.

Yep. Kinda beautiful <3

Good blog, I believe that many people like to see you write something, because I also like to come see what you wrote, is indeed very good, so I know more things usually not found.
